Los Angeles Lakers and LeBron James are losing their first-round series against the Denver Nuggets 2-0 and will return home. In Game 2, the Lakers led by as many as 20 points, but they could not hang on as a Jamal Murray buzzer-beater destroyed their hopes of leveling the series.
LeBron tried his hand at it everything on Monday night, finishing with 26 points, 8 rebounds, 12 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks. However, it was insufficient as the Nuggets outplayed the Lakers in the closing minutes to secure a victory.
James is just taking it game by game and concentrating on the Lakers defending their home floor like Denver just did, even though he now has the difficult challenge of needing to defeat the Nuggets four times in five games.
“Safeguard your house. After a painful Game 2 defeat, LeBron was asked about his perspective. He said, “That’s where my mindset goes.” “Clearly, Game 3 is the only game that matters right now, along with our ability to improve and understand this squad. My mentality is therefore in Game 3.
After losing ten straight games against the reigning NBA Champions, Denver, the Lakers have been unable to understand them for the past two seasons. LeBron, though, doesn’t think the Lakers are losing hope and believes they still need to make tweaks and stick to their strategy in order to win.
James went on, “Every game is its own challenge.” “Just because we performed well tonight, doesn’t indicate that we’ll do it in Game 3 as well. Teams make changes from game to game in the postseason, and that is the essence of the game.
“We just need to approach it with the idea that this is a unique game. We must regard this as a stand-alone game because both Games 1 and 2 are now ended. We need to follow our game plan to the letter.
The Lakers’ chances of making the playoffs will be severely limited if they are unable to quickly understand the Nuggets, make the required changes, and devise and carry out an effective game plan.
LeBron James of the Lakers chastises the NBA Officiating Center over an overturned foul call.
A foul call as D’Angelo Russell drove to the hoop and attempted a layup was a crucial play in Game 2. To LeBron James’ dismay, the officials decided to reverse the foul and give the ball to Denver after reviewing it.
“To be honest, I have no idea what’s going on in the replay center. DLo is obviously struck in the face while driving. If that’s how it’s going to proceed, do we really have a replay center? James questioned. It is incomprehensible to me. I find it incomprehensible. It annoys me. .. It’s just like that. I also just witnessed what transpired during the Sixers vs. Knicks game. What on earth are we doing? It’s really foolish.
Even after the ruling, the Lakers still had many opportunities to win the game, but decisions like these don’t help to stem the flow when momentum is already working against you.
