Breading News: The Victory Project Teams Up with Make-A-Wish Missouri & Kansas for Greater Impact

Today, Sporting Kansas City revealed that The Victory Project and Make-A-Wish Missouri & Kansas have partnered to provide five Sporting Wishes for local kids facing cancer and other serious diseases this year. Landmarks throughout Kansas City, such as Children’s Mercy Park, will be illuminated in blue tonight in honor of World Wish Day, which commemorates the anniversary of Make-A-Wish’s establishment on April 29, 1980.

The Victory Project was founded by Sporting KC in 2013 when the team joined with the local branch of Make-A-Wish. For over ten years, the organization has supported soccer access and childhood cancer research while celebrating children’s successes. Through a new partnership with Make-A-Wish Missouri & Kansas, The Victory Project, which started the Sporting Wishes initiative in 2017, will expand the effort to grant five wishes to medically eligible children in the area who have been diagnosed with a condition that puts their life in danger.

“One of the great things about the Sporting Kansas City community is that we celebrate The Victory Project at the start of every game. According to Lexie Clark, Executive Director of The Victory Project, “it’s part of our culture.” “Our fans are thrilled about our partnership with Make-A-Wish to advance the Sporting Wishes program,” the spokesperson said. Our players, staff members of Sporting Kansas City, and supporters will have the chance to participate in the Make-A-Wish program.

“The Victory Project’s greatest feature is that you may converse with both families and children. The influence is far more than those two hours on a matchday, according to Sporting Kansas City President and CEO Jake Reid. We are here to have that experience, that is our goal. Hence, we carry it out. ensuring that they receive emotional assistance in addition to financial help. You have the club behind you. It belongs to the owners, the coaches, and the players. That’s really all that really sets it apart.

Create a Wish Since the chapter’s founding in 1983, Missouri & Kansas has fulfilled the dreams of over 10,000 children with life-threatening diseases. According to research, children who get their wishes fulfilled develop the mental and physical fortitude required to overcome a serious disease. Additionally, wishes may enhance the quality of life and health outcomes for these children.

“A program that is focused on celebrating children is The Victory Project and Sporting Wishes,” stated Christina Tetuan, Regional Director of Business Development for Make-A-Wish Missouri & Kansas. “Sporting Wishes and the nearby Make-A-Wish chapter have a collaboration that is exactly that. It is a way to commemorate, support, and celebrate kids who are fighting life-threatening illnesses and long for something that will give them joy, hope, and strength.

According to Jeff Eden, board chair of Make-A-Wish Missouri & Kansas, “soccer is so important to this region.” “There are a lot of kids doing this sport here in this area. For those kids, Kansas City sports are very essential. The players are idolized by them. When they grow up, they want to be just like them. I believe that the combined strength of the Sporting and Make-A-Wish brands is really powerful and relevant since so many kids participate in the sport.
