Shocking News: See What Son of Legendary Former Player Offered by Auburn Tigers

The son of a former player received an offer from the Auburn Tigers that no Auburn supporter would soon forget.

The son of “kick six” Auburn great Chris Davis is Chris “CJ” Davis III, a member of the class of 2028. Running back Davis III will start his freshman year in high school.

Chris Davis is a name that Auburn Tigers fans will always remember, even though he was a cornerback who never recorded an interception in his four years of collegiate football.

With his game-winning performance against the renowned Alabama Crimson Tide, who was coached by recently retired head coach Nick Saban, Davis cemented his reputation as an Auburn icon.
When Alabama attempted to drive down the field for a last-second field goal, time was first declared to have expired. However, Saban contested the decision, allowing himself and his team a final-second opportunity to try a 57-yard from goal.
The kick was short and fell into the hands of Chris Davis, who executed one of the sport’s most incredible moves ever. As time ran out, Davis won the game for Auburn by scuttling past the Alabama field goal unit and tightroping down the sideline.

In the Iron Bowl, a 109-yard field goal return in the final seconds crushed the hopes and ambitions of the top-ranked Alabama Crimson Tide squad. For one of the most unlikely and thrilling plays in college football history, Davis will always be remembered in the annals of the sport.

The call from Auburn commentator Rod Bramblett is the one that will live in infamy, even though most fans were listening to the one from Verne Lundquist on CBS at the time of the famous play.
With Bramblett’s impassioned cry, known as “there goes Davis,” Davis’ name became inextricably linked to the performance.

Players whose identities have long since been forgotten can be found in similarly iconic moments like “The Play,” which took place between the Cal Golden Bears and the Stanford Cardinals while the band was playing, or the Boise State Broncos’ deceitful Fiesta Bowl performance in 2007.

Given the significance of Bramblett’s renowned call, Davis’ name will live on. In a piece published on the Auburn Tigers website, Bramblett discussed the impact the call had on his life.

“I stated that the Georgia game will undoubtedly be surpassed by the Alabama game. No manner is possible. I was in error.

According to Bramblett, “some days it seems like it was yesterday, and some days it seems like it was ten years ago.” “People want to talk about that game everywhere I’m lucky enough to speak.”

It will be much more difficult to forget the name if Davis III chooses to carry on his father’s legacy with the Tigers.

Running back Davis III, who stands five feet nine inches and weighs 165 pounds, has choices besides attending his father’s alma institution. He will not graduate until 2028.

Former Auburn coach Gus Malzahn, who is currently the head coach of the UCF Knights, made Davis III his first offer. The Florida State Seminoles and the Arkansas Razorbacks have both sent offers to the son of the legendary Auburn coach.

While most Auburn supporters would undoubtedly want Davis III to carry on his father’s legacy, he will also have the chance to establish his own as a running back for elite college football programs.
