Josh Allen, the quarterback for the Buffalo Bills, is enamored by his new colleague Keon Coleman’s passion.
This week at OTAs, the teammates got the opportunity to train together on the field for the first time, practicing team exercises on May 21. After the game, Allen gave the team’s best rookie a lot of praise in remarks to reporters.
Allen stated, via the team’s official website, “He loves football.”
Allen claimed that during their first session together, Coleman’s passion for the game was evident.
That, in my opinion, is the most important thing you discover about him. It’s enjoyable to be with someone who adores this game and all of its subtleties, remarked Allen.
Allen was drawn to Coleman for reasons other than merely his fervor for the game of football. The wide receiver’s physical talents were also praised by the Bills quarterback, who saw them in action during throwing drills.
He has the ability to move and jump. He stands 6-4. Allen remarked, “I felt he can run some routes pretty well.”
Coleman is serious when he goes onto the field, according to Bills head coach Sean McDermott, even though he offers a lighthearted demeanor to the squad.
McDermott stated, “I have found that focused young man who is here to play football and help this team in any way that he can, as well as that playful, fun person.”
With the loss of Gabe Davis and Stefon Diggs, the team’s two best wide receivers, the Bills air attack will look very different coming season. Allen said he has taken some time to get to know the other rookie wide receivers, which include Marquez Valdes-Scantling, Chase Claypool, and veteran Curtis Samuel.
“I know it sounds weird, but just sitting with different guys in the cafeteria and getting to know them and their families, just talking and chopping it up with different guys in the locker room,” Allen said. “I really think that having that relationship off the field pays rewards on the field, and I’ve stated that many times over the years. It is the same presently. I believe that there is currently a greater emphasis on it and perhaps even an intention.
Additionally, Allen actively participated in Valdes-Scantling’s recruitment to Buffalo as a free agent. Along with inviting Shane Buechele of the practice squad and offensive coordinator Joe Brady, the Bills quarterback extended an invitation to Valdes-Scantling to join him for dinner at his house.
The group talked about how the former Kansas City Chiefs receiver may fit into the offense, as the team’s official website reported.
“We had an instant connection,” said Valdes-Scantling. “Typically, during a visit, you go out to dinner with the staff and have conversations with them. Nevertheless, Josh said, “Nah, I’d like you to come over to the house.”
Additionally, Allen expressed his admiration for Valdes-Scantling’s viewpoint on the game.
Allen described him as “very smart, he sees things through the lens of a quarterback.” “Once more, leveraging his experience, believing what he says, and merely attempting to establish a rapport with him.”
