Ryan Brasier and Joe Kelly, two important components of the Los Angeles Dodgers bullpen, are still a long way from taking the mound again.
According to Mike DiGiovanna, a staff writer for the Los Angeles Times, Kelly and Brasier are “weeks away from returning.”
The 36-year-old Brasier has not said when he will return. A few weeks ago, the most recent information available about Brasier said that he will throw from the mound “some point soon.” Still, Brasier has continued to use his arm.
Kelly started his throwing regimen in late May, marking the beginning of his comeback. He’s been playing catch at ninety feet ever since. On May 6, the 35-year-old’s right shoulder issue led to his placement on the 15-day disabled list. For a rehab assignment, the right-hander could still need to increase his workload and possibly make an appearance in the minor leagues.
For these two seasoned right-handers, it’s a positive start, but it could be some time before they return to the major league club.
