Demetres Samuel Jr., a safety at Heritage (Fla.) and a Top247 prospect, visited Miami on Sunday for its Legends Camp.
The 2026 prospect had the opportunity to spend extra time with UM’s coaching staff, including cornerbacks coach Chevis Jackson, even though he did not play in the camp’s 7-on-7 competition.
..Since Coach Jackson and I get along well, I contacted him as soon as I told him I would be attending, and when I pulled up… After seeing some of the 7-on-7s, we had a great day,” remarked Samuel, who has already made three trips to Miami.
Since my mom is from Fort Lauderdale, it goes without saying that Jackson treated my family and I quite well. He tried to show my parents about and educate them about Miami. He introduced them to Coach Cristobal, which made my parents really happy. He only attempted to give them the impression of what I would see if I go to Miami, not just for myself.”
