Deal On The Verge: Both The Hawks And San Antonio Spurs Are Said To Be Contemplating A Major Trade As The 2024 NBA Draft Approaches.

This offseason, trade speculations involving the San Antonio Spurs have been frequent. These reports have been connected to moves made in the 2024 NBA Draft as well as the possible departure of All-Star players. The Spurs front staff is apparently still aggressively pursuing their desired star as draft night draws closer.

San Antonio is well-equipped to make a trade for the top choice in the 2024 NBA Draft or for an All-Star guard. With its two top-10 selections, the issue has been whether San Antonio will hold onto them or utilize one or both of them to select a co-star to complement Victor Wembanyama.

Sadly, some of San Antonio’s best selections aren’t accessible at this time. San Antonio is allegedly considering All-Star guard Darius Garland, but the Cleveland Cavaliers aren’t ready to go with Garland just yet. Though a deal for either player isn’t near, Dejounte Murray seems to be significantly preferred over a Trae Young trade in terms of a possible deal with the Atlanta Hawks. Still, another course of action is being taken.

The Spurs are still actively pursuing a trade with Atlanta for the first selection in the 2024 NBA Draft, according to NBA insider Marc Stein. The Washington Wizards are reportedly concentrating on the Spurs target, so San Antonio is still pursuing the trade.

It is generally anticipated that the Wizards would choose Sarr with the second overall pick if San Antonio and Atlanta are unable to reach an agreement.

The Hawks might choose Donovan Clingan with the first pick if San Antonio fails, with Sarr going to Washington at second overall. By then, the Spurs are hopeful that Zaccarie Risacher, a 6-foot-8 wing, is still available at No. 4 overall.
