According to Mile High Huddle’s Cory Kinnan, former Oregon and Auburn football player Bo Nix may see his new team, the Denver Broncos, take it easy with his development under center during the 2024 season.
Before stating, “The talent on their roster might be lacking, leading to perhaps another rough season,” Kinnan began, “The Broncos are stuck in a hard place at the moment, letting go of Justin Simmons and Jerry Jeudy this offseason.” Even though Nix is 24, there’s a good reason they would want to take things slowly with him.”
But Nix’s competition at quarterback, or rather Kinnan’s lack of it, means that the 2023 Heisman contender can still be hired by the Broncos.
“However, Nix still has a firm chance to win the job, and it’s not like he is going up against the stiffest of competition,” Kinnan stated. “While Nix was not my cup of tea this offseason, giving him a third round grade, all Payton might need him to do early on is make the right throws and do the easy things well.”
Mike Klis of 9News, who attended practice, said that Jarrett Stidham is presently outperforming Nix this summer.
Klis introduced himself by stating, “Say this for Stidham: He hasn’t moped about becoming crowded with hotshot newcomers. He bowed his neck and competed.” During the offseason practice sessions, Stidham was deemed by nearly all media observers as the most proficient quarterback among the three, while Nix showed promise as well.”
Zach Wilson is said to have the “liveliest” arm out of the three. In summary, Wilson is QB1 to some, Stidham is QB1 to others, and Nix is ahead of the curve.
However, they are also unable to predict who will start at quarterback because there doesn’t appear to be a clear favorite for Week 1 of the NFL season.
