Over the past few days, there have been rumors on social media that Ian Evatt is planning a move for the midfield youngster, who won Bolton’s young player of the year award the previous season.
The player’s social media Twitter/X account posted an unclear message titled “Irreplaceable” that appeared to light up the touchpaper. However, as far as we know, Brentford is looking to loan the 23-year-old to a Championship team this season and has not received any approaches for him.
Maghoma, who scored nine goals in 50 appearances for Wanderers the previous season, was forced to leave the play-off final at Wembley due to an ankle injury from which he is still healing.
Evatt had thought that Bolton would have a better opportunity to sign him permanently following promotion, but he acknowledged there was little likelihood of the move happening less than an hour after Oxford United’s defeat.
He informed us that signing Paris would be challenging given that we are now in League One. That’s the way things are.
“We wish him well and are grateful for everything he has accomplished this season.”
Maghoma did indeed thank the Bolton supporters in a statement following the play-off final.
“I don’t know where to even start, the game on Saturday has really broken my heart,” he tweeted. You didn’t receive the performance you were due. You have been our 12th guy and have supported us throughout this season. We appreciate your support, but on the most crucial day, we were unable to deliver. I apologize for that.
“Being a part of this incredible team this season has been the highlight of my life. From the staff to the players to you fans, you have all treated me like family. Performing at the Toughsheet has been nothing but a pleasure. I have relished every second of it, both the highs and the lows.
“Bolton’s supporters will be essential to the team’s success in the upcoming season, so please continue with the team, maintain your faith, serve as the club’s pillar, and assist in the team’s promotion into the Championship.
“You have a very unique place in my heart, Bolton. I’ve gained friends and memories that I will always treasure. “Once a nomad, always a nomad.”
