Breaking: Alabama Beat The Racing Between Georgia, LSU, Michigan, And Notre Dame To Commit A Five-star Receiver

Derek Meadows, a five-star receiver, is prepared to disclose his college preference. The Las Vegas Bishop Gorman Top247 talent, who is being pursued by Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, and Notre Dame, is scheduled to announce his commitment on July 13 at noon PT / 3 p.m. ET on the 247Sports YouTube channel.

According to 247Sports rankings, Meadows is the top player in Nevada for the 2025 class, the 32nd best overall prospect in the US, and the sixth best wide receiver.

The very athletic Meadows had a packed schedule of official visits, including dates to Michigan (May 31), Georgia (June 7), Notre Dame (June 14), LSU (June 18), and Alabama (June 21).

“I’m looking at a lot of things with these schools,” Meadows said in a recent interview with 247Sports. “But I know they have to have great leaders, great education, and a great quarterback to throw the ball.” In general, I’m determining which is best for my future and me.”

During the assessment phase, the outstanding pass catcher and current Gatorade state track and field player of the year exceeded the 20-offer threshold and swiftly soared up college staff lists. In the 300-meter hurdles, 6-foot-6, 200-pound Meadows set a mark of 36.73 seconds.

Meadows was credited with 15 catches for 391 yards and eight touchdowns in 10 games during his junior season. With a broad catch radius and a towering build, Meadows possesses the most physical potential of any prospect in the West for the cycle.

Having seen Meadows in person a few times this summer, 247Sports’ national recruiting analyst Greg Biggins is quite optimistic about Meadows’ ability to make an impact at the next level and beyond.

Four-star receiver Derek Meadows to commit this weekend
Biggins said in the scouting report, “Meadows is a jumbo receiver and one of the more intriguing players in the 2025 class.” He is only beginning to reach the potential we believe he is capable of because of his unique combination of stature, athleticism, and body control. With an 80-inch wingspan, he should pose an immediate threat in the red zone for smaller defensive backs. He is one of the best hurdlers in the area and was named the Gatorade Track and Field Athlete of the Year in his sophomore year. Given his size, it wouldn’t surprise us if he developed into a deadly pass-catching tight end who could run the center of the field and disrupt linebackers and safeties.”
