On Friday night, Arkansas basketball offered a scholarship to one of the top 25 players in the 2025 class. The No. 23 prospect in the cycle and four-star shooting guard Braylon Mullins announced on X (formerly Twitter) that he has earned a scholarship offer from the Hogs, led by John Calipari.
Mullins is competing in the adidas 3SSB Palmetto Road Championship in South Carolina right now for the formidable Indiana Elite squad. Several elite coaches were present to witness the 6-5, 180-pound guard score 22 points in a victory on Friday afternoon on 6 of 11 three-point attempts. Calipari was one of them.
The native of Greenville, Indiana, was among the more understated recruits coming into the summer, but the most recent 247Sports recruiting report showed him to be among the top risers. His recruiting has accelerated recently, and several prestigious programs have expressed interest in him.
Currently, the states most participating are Connecticut, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State, North Carolina, and Tennessee. Travis Branham, national basketball analyst for 247Sports, reports that Mullins has trips planned to all of those schools far into October. It is anticipated that he will make an official list cut after his performance this summer, which will probably now include Arkansas.
One of the busiest weeks of the summer for Calipari and the Razorbacks is this one. Before making his way around the recruiting trail to the three main grassroots events on Wednesday night, the new head coach of the University of Arkansas traveled to Las Vegas to see some of his former players compete in the Team USA/Canada Showcase
As the grassroots activity winds down over the following several weeks, the majority of the top prospects in the class of 2025 will start to refine their lists and set formal visit dates. The Razorbacks should be active in both of those categories.
