An more former basketball player from Kentucky has received his first NBA contract.
Antonio Reeves, a rookie guard, has signed a three-year, $5.41 million contract. This June, Reeves was selected with the 47th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
Reeves spent two seasons in Lexington following a fruitful career at Illinois State, where he scored 17.2 points per game and made 42.2 percent of his three-pointers. During his time in Kentucky, he made 164 threes.
After winning the SEC Sixth Man of the Year award in his first season at Kentucky, Reeves went on to average 20.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 44.7 percent from three point range last year, which was among the greatest percentages in college basketball.
He shot at least 50 percent from the field, 44 percent from three, and 86 percent from the foul line, making him the only player in the Power 5 and one of only three players in all of DI.
Last month, Bryson Graham, general manager of the Pelicans, described Anthony as a “big-time shooter and playmaker.” “I actually saw him play his first game at Illinois State when he was competing in the Missouri Valley tournament, as I was telling him as we were entering the building.
“He is a proficient marksman.”
