On Saturday morning, the Denver Broncos received some positive injury news.
After starting the season on the PUP list, safety Caden Sterns surprised everyone by making his training camp debut early.
It’s been a long trip back for Sterns, who missed the last 16 games of the previous season because of a ruptured patellar tendon sustained in Week 1. It was obvious that he only needed a few more days to be able to play with his teammates.
Despite having a lot of promise, injuries have hindered Sterns’ early career. The Texas Broncos selected the safety in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. In his 15 games as a rookie in 2022, he recorded 28 tackles and a few interceptions.
It’s encouraging to see Sterns back on the field, especially with Justin Simmons out of the picture and Brandon Jones already dealing with a hamstring issue. Hopefully, Sterns can maintain his health over the next six months and this is only the beginning of an entertaining comeback tale.
