Sad: Just In, Chargers Confirmed Loosing High Rated Veteran Star Player From The Squad

Star quarterback Justin Herbert already gives the Los Angeles Chargers some reason for concern.

Herbert has been diagnosed with a plantar fascia injury to his right foot, the Chargers revealed on Thursday. The squad reports that Herbert should wear a boot for around two weeks, as advised by the physicians, before beginning a “graduated” return-to-play regimen. The Chargers add that Herbert is still anticipated to be ready for the start of the regular season, which is encouraging news.

Herbert, a former Pro Bowler who is 26 years old, had a season-ending injury that prevented him from playing in the final four games for the Chargers in 2023 despite throwing for 3,134 yards and 20 touchdowns. Despite the Chargers’ summer offensive change, which included the departure of Austin Ekeler, Keenan Allen, and other weapons, there is still a tangible sense of enthusiasm for Herbert under new head coach Jim Harbaugh.

Plantar fascia injuries are known to persist and have a significant impact on a player’s range of motion, particularly for quarterbacks who must move quickly in the pocket. Herbert will have around five weeks to recuperate from his plantar fascia injury, even though the Chargers won’t officially begin the regular season until September 8—a full month away—but as of right now, nothing about Herbert’s ailment seems promising. As a result, it is likely that he will miss the remainder of training camp and maybe the whole Chargers preseason.
