Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that kicker Cameron Dicker and the Los Angeles Chargers have reached a contract extension:
According to ESPN sources, the Chargers and Cameron Dicker, also known as “The Kicker,” have agreed to a four-year, $22.004 million contract deal, with $12.5 million guaranteed. This puts Dicker in the top five highest-paid kickers in the NFL, only ahead of Evan McPherson and Graham Gano. Dicker’s contract with the Chargers runs until the 2028 campaign.
Entering his third NFL season, the 24-year-old Dicker made 31 of 33 field goals in the previous campaign. Additionally, he scored all 35 of his extra points.
In 2022, Dicker signed as an undrafted free agent with the Los Angeles Rams, but he was released in August of the same year. He was then signed by the Baltimore Ravens on August 26, but they waived him two days later.
After that, Dicker signed a contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he played his NFL debut on October 9, 2022, replacing regular Jake Elliott who was injured. Dicker made two of his three field goals, including the game-winning 23-yarder with 1:45 remaining to give the team a 20–17 lead.
After Los Angeles traded Hopkins to the Cleveland Browns in 2023, Dicker was hired by the Chargers to be their kicker. With every field goal he attempted in 2023 being under 50 yards, he performed exceptionally well. He has already earned a well-earned contract extension with the Chargers, who play the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday, September 8, to kick off head coach Jim Harbaugh’s first season.
