ESPN REPORT: Shocking, Just Now Georgia Loosed Another High Rated Veteran Five-star Superstar Due To

Athens-Clarke County Police are said to have taken sophomore cornerback Daniel Harris of Georgia into custody on Thursday night. In addition to four other crimes, Harris was accused of careless driving, operating a vehicle without a license plate, driving without proof of insurance, and having an illegal window tint.

Throughout fall camp and the first two weeks of the regular season, Harris has been involved in a competition to start as Georgia’s No. 2 cornerback opposite Daylen Everette. Compared to Ellis Robinson IV, who is Harris’ main rival for playing time, and Julian Humphrey, Harris has played the 12th most defensive snaps for the Bulldogs thus far in 2024.

For DUI-related convictions, Kirby Smart’s program’s standard operating procedure has been a one-game suspension; nevertheless, Florida transfer running back Trevor Etienne was not allowed to play in Georgia’s Week 1 victory over Clemson, even though his DUI charges were dismissed.

Following Etienne’s arrest on March 24, Harris became the fifth Georgia Bulldog to be arrested for a driving-related infraction, along with Savoie White, Smael Mondon Jr., Demello Jones, and Bo Hughley. The amount of occurrences that have occurred since offensive lineman Devin Willock and staff member Chandler LeCroy perished in a deadly crash while racing current Philadelphia Eagle and former Bulldog Jalen Carter is difficult to count. Prior to Harris’s incident on Thursday, USA Today reports that there had been up to “25 arrests or citations for speeding, reckless driving, or racing.”

Harris’s status for Georgia’s SEC opener against Kentucky on Saturday night will be in doubt in the short term, but in the long run, Smart hasn’t addressed a significant issue with the program’s culture, and if the passing of Willock and LeCory wasn’t enough to make a difference, it’s not clear what will.

4-Star CB Daniel Harris Will Commit July 1, Penn State in Final 4
Should Harris miss Georgia’s Week 3 game against Kentucky, Robinson has performed well enough in the first two weeks to take over at cornerback behind Everette and Humphreys. With 26 of his 28 snaps coming as true outside corner, the true freshman has only allowed one catch for seven yards through two games.
