POST-NY MOVE: SEPT 14 All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey will be officially placed on injured reserve by the 49ers on Saturday, as per rumors, because of calf and Achilles tendonitis.
This was a contentious Jets-related topic since it appeared the Niners were withholding information regarding the seriousness of the injuries. McCaffrey will now miss the next four games, possibly even more, as the club determines whether he will be able to make a comeback by mid-October.
Even without their star, the Niners managed to defeat the Jets and advance to play the Vikings in Week 2.
September 14: NO PENALTIES All-Pro running back Christian McCaffrey was ruled out of the San Francisco 49ers’ Week 1 victory over the Jets due to a calf/Achilles ailment.
However, the 49ers also didn’t appear to be forthcoming when it came to informing the league about the injury problem.
A few days before the game, running back Jordan Mason said that he had been informed he would start as quarterback. That implied that Niners coach Kyle Shanahan had been exposed as a liar. However, the NFL said on Friday that it had not discovered any proof that the 49ers had broken the league’s injury report standard. We felt that a smack across the wrist was just right. Of course, that doesn’t matter anymore to the Jets (0-1).
10 SEPT FIRE HIM! As you may be aware, common sense and journalism are no longer given priority at ESPN. And after the Jets’ most recent defeat?
Already, the screams of indignation are taking control. After New York’s loss to the 49ers on Monday, 32-19, “Stugotz” of the “Dan LeBatard Show,” who also happens to be a Jets fan, demanded on Tuesday that the team dismiss head coach Robert Salah “today.”
Should Bill Belichich make a call? stated Stugotz. “What do you do?”
