The Texas A&M Aggies are gearing up to face the Bowling Green Falcons on Saturday night, aiming to improve their record to 3-1 for the season. A crucial factor in achieving this goal will be the quarterback situation.
Last week, starting quarterback Conner Weigman was sidelined due to a setback with an AC joint injury in his throwing shoulder, which he initially sustained in Week 1.
So, who will lead the Aggies on the field? ESPN insider Pete Thamel indicated on College Football Live that Marcel Reed is expected to take the helm once more. Thamel noted, “Conner Weigman’s injury was the main story last Saturday. He didn’t play against Florida, and Marcel Reed stepped in and performed well. Given Weigman’s shoulder issue, it’s unlikely he’ll return for the Bowling Green game. Look for Reed to continue getting opportunities.”
In Weigman’s absence, Reed excelled, completing 11 of 17 passes for 178 yards and two touchdowns, while also rushing for 83 yards and another score.
If Reed delivers another strong performance against the Falcons, it could simplify Elko’s decision-making process.
