Steph Curry, a guard for the Golden State Warriors, is about to begin his 16th NBA season. Curry, who was chosen by Golden State with the seventh overall pick in the 2009 NBA draft, has grown into one of the best players in league history.
In the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, Curry led Team USA in scoring and added a gold medal to his long list of accomplishments as a basketball player. Curry, who now wins gold in the Olympics, has won four NBA titles, two league MVP honors, ten All-Star and All-NBA choices, a Finals MVP award, and more. Curry has had his wife, Ayesha Curry, by his side during his ascent to fame. Before getting hitched in 2011, the pair got together when they were teenagers. In 2019, Steph and Ayesha established the Eat, Learn, Play Foundation. The nonprofit’s main goal is to provide kids with access to food, educational materials, and other things.
The pair announced on Monday through their Eat. Learn. Play. Instagram feed that they are collaborating with MasterClass to provide instructors in the Oakland and San Francisco Unified School Districts 16,000 memberships as a gift.
Steph provides a video in the announcement that goes into the specifics of this cooperation.
“It’s national literacy month, and we want to take a moment to celebrate and thank teachers for the critical role they play in helping our students learn, grown and improve their skills,” Curry said. He continued, “Ayesha and I, along with our Eat. Learn. Play. Foundation, are excited to announce we are once again teaming up with MasterClass to celebrate all teachers, educators, and administrator staff in Oakland and San Francisco Public schools.” He praised educators for their resiliency in the face of recent challenges. A explanation of the services that the Curry family will be providing to educators can be seen on the MasterClass website.
Steph and Ayesha have announced free memberships for educators in the community they have lived in for over ten years through their foundation.
