The Los Angeles Chargers had a day that was not particularly eventful for the rest of the world. Despite researching the NFL trade market extensively and being linked to many well-known players, including Marshon Lattimore and KJ Osborne, general manager Joe Hortiz decided against making any moves.
The Chargers are still able to add quality to their squad through free agency and roster cuts, though.
Once considered a first-round pick in the 2022 NFL draft, Andrew Booth Jr. ultimately fell because of knee problems and short arms. In an attempt to turn him into a reliable starter for their weak secondary, the Vikings scooped him up after he stopped losing.

— Dame Full-Time 💰 (@DP_NFL) December 10, 2021Although he only played 156 snaps in his first two years with the Vikings, he showed some promise. He missed too much time for the Vikings to hold onto him, though, as his health became a serious problem.
In August 2024, the former 42nd overall pick was acquired by the Dallas Cowboys. After a few months, Booth is no longer a member of the squad and is trying to fulfill his college potential.
The Chargers have demonstrated their ability to transform day three cornerbacks into incredibly valuable members of the top defense in the league. Consider what they could accomplish at cornerback with a previous first-round pick.
The Chargers might sign an intriguing free agent to strengthen their defense for the league minimum if the former Clemson cornerback is healthy and Jesse Minter is coaching.
Since his 2016 draft selection, veteran Quinton Jefferson has shown to be a potent interior defensive lineman. The 31-year-old was dismissed today, November 5, despite having been a valuable member of the Cleveland Browns’ deep defensive line.
Jefferson has been a healthy scratch for the past four weeks, which has resulted in weeks of lack of playing time.
Jefferson’s lack of playing time is explained by Jim Schwartz, the defensive coordinator for the Browns.
Schwartz remarked, “It’s really just a numbers game.” Mo has been playing well, Shelby, Dalvin, and Mike have all been busy. Mike has also rushed the passer and provided us a spark. There will come a day when Quinton Jefferson, or Q, will be available and prepared. He is an experienced player who performed admirably for us in the early going of the season.
Jefferson obviously missed his opportunity to play again. He’s a free agent now.
Even though the Chargers’ defense is the best in the NFL, it never hurts to add more players. You have tremendous run-stop potential with Teair Tart, Poona Ford, Morgan Fox, and Otito Ogbonnia, but you lack a real interior pass rusher besides Fox.
Quinton Jefferson’s sack. To win 6 vs. 5, the Jets harass Mosley and delay Quincy. Jefferson sheds to make the play and uses a long arm power rush to win his lonesome matchup. HeFLwVoABI pic.twitter.com/
A seasoned leader who can make his mark and lead this youthful squad to the postseason. With eight postseason appearances under his belt, Jefferson has a wealth of experience.
