Good News; Serbian Tennis Head Coach Boris Bošnjaković Confirmed Massive Achievements After Novak Djokovic Defeated…
Jannik Sinner dominated men’s tennis in 2024, winning 73 out of 79 matches and claiming eight ATP titles, including the Davis Cup for Italy. His remarkable achievements included setting several records and accomplishing a rare feat, matched only by Roger Federer. Sinner won at least one set in all of his 79 matches that year, with the only exception being a straight-set defeat to Novak Djokovic at the 2023 ATP Finals.
Sinner captured his first Masters 1000 title in Canada the previous year but was defeated by Dusan Lajovic a week later in Cincinnati. After the US Open, Sinner proved nearly unbeatable in straight sets, with Djokovic being the sole player to manage that feat in Turin. Earlier, Sinner had beaten Djokovic in an exciting round-robin match.
However, Sinner’s performance faltered in the ATP Finals final, where he faced Djokovic once again. Struggling physically and unable to match Djokovic’s level, Sinner was defeated 6-3, 6-3 in just under two hours, as Novak claimed a record seventh ATP Finals title. Djokovic also secured his 98th ATP title and finished the year ranked No. 1, despite being 36 years old.
In their final match, Djokovic dominated in both serve and return, saving a break point and keeping the pressure on Sinner. The veteran showcased superior serving and denied Sinner on multiple break point opportunities, finishing with 18 winners and only 11 unforced errors. Sinner, on the other hand, made over 30 unforced errors and struggled to impose his game.
The match started with Djokovic taking control, winning most of the opening games with ease. He broke Sinner’s serve in the fourth game of the first set, maintaining his advantage and eventually taking the set 6-3. In the second set, Sinner’s movement and timing faltered, and Djokovic capitalized, taking a commanding 2-0 lead. Djokovic continued to apply pressure, and despite Sinner’s efforts to fight back, he was ultimately broken again, sealing a dominant victory for the world No. 1.
