Breaking; Just Now Five-Star Michigan OT Seeks Fresh Start After Been
Jeff Persi may not have been the most high-profile recruit, but the former JSerra Catholic (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) offensive tackle worked his way up to a four-star ranking before joining Michigan in 2020. However, his time in Ann Arbor didn’t quite pan out as expected.
Despite earning playing time in multiple games, including the 2022 matchup against Rutgers and several appearances in 2024, Persi didn’t solidify himself as a key piece of Michigan’s long-term plans on the offensive line. With limited opportunities ahead, he made the decision to enter the transfer portal in search of a fresh start.

Persi is one of several Michigan offensive linemen to leave the program this offseason. Fellow linemen Dom Giudice (Missouri), Raheem Anderson (Western Michigan), and Andrew Gentry (BYU) have also transferred, each looking to carve out bigger roles elsewhere.
With a new opportunity at Pitt, Persi has a chance to make his mark and maximize his final year on the field.
