ESPN REPORT; Patrick Allvin Confirmed Canucks Reward A Four-star Talent With NHL Contract After Record-Breaking AHL Season
The Vancouver Canucks have locked in right winger Linus Karlsson for the 2025-26 season, signing him to a one-year, one-way contract worth $775,000. This deal marks a step up for the 25-year-old Swedish forward, who previously played under a two-way contract.
Karlsson has been a standout for the AHL’s Abbotsford Canucks, tallying 19 goals and 32 points in just 28 games this season. His impressive performance has cemented his place in franchise history as Abbotsford’s all-time leading scorer with 141 points and most career goals at 66.
At the NHL level, Karlsson has made strides, playing nine games for Vancouver this season and netting his first NHL goal in a January win over the Nashville Predators. He also gained valuable playoff experience last season, appearing in two Stanley Cup Playoff games.

Originally drafted 87th overall by the San Jose Sharks in 2018, Karlsson joined the Canucks organization in a 2019 trade. Now, as Vancouver fights for a Stanley Cup Playoff spot amid a challenging season, Karlsson’s continued development could prove crucial to the team’s success.
