Good News; Barry Odom Of Boilermakers Confirmed A Significant Bolst After The Commitment Of A Five-star Talent

Barry Odom and his coaching staff have bolstered their 2025 recruiting class with the addition of two high school prospects, bringing the total to 12 commitments. Despite these signings, the class ranks outside the top 90 in Rivals’ team recruiting standings, marking the program’s lowest ranking in over a decade.

One of the new recruits, Mason Alnutt from Canisius High School in Buffalo, NY, brings an impressive defensive resume. The 6-foot-4, 250-pound standout recorded 121 career tackles, 29 tackles for loss, and 18.5 sacks. His senior season alone included 43 tackles, 16 tackles for loss, and 7.5 sacks, helping his team reach the state championship.

With a strong mix of power and agility, Alnutt is expected to be a seamless fit as a defensive end in Mike Scherer’s defensive scheme.
