According to league sources, the Magic have agreed to a two-way contract with free agency guard Trevelin Queen, as reported by Chris Haynes of TNT and Bleacher Report (Twitter link).
After going undrafted out of New Mexico State in 2020, Queen, 27, has primarily played in the G League. However, he has also had NBA stints with Houston, Indiana, and Orlando. While on a two-way contract with the Magic in 2023–2024, he played in 14 NBA games, averaging 11.8 minutes per night, 2.9 points, 1.4 rebounds, and 1.3 assists.
Queen has been a standout in the G League lately, despite being well down the NBA depth charts. In addition to being named to the All-Star Weekend G League Next Up Game MVP this year, he also earned the MVP awards for the regular season and the Finals in 2022, 2024, and 2024. He was also selected to the All-NBAGL Second Team. He finished the previous season with a.493/.313/.816 shooting line and 23.2 PPG, 7.3 RPG, 5.0 APG, and 2.4 SPG in 35 games overall for the Osceola Magic.
Even when Queen is formally signed, Orlando will still have two two-way unfilled spots. Their other two-way players from the previous season were Kevon Harris and Admiral Schofield, although Harris is an unrestricted free agent and Schofield inked a contract with a French team.
