Just In: Good News AS NY Knicks Has Added Another Veteran Superstar To Their Roster

Although Tom Thibodeau is still awaiting word from the New York Knicks on a new contract extension, there doesn’t seem to be any need for concern.

An update on the contract negotiations between head coach Thibodeau and the Knicks was provided on Thursday by Fred Katz of The Athletic. According to Katz, Thibodeau is still “more likely” than not to extend (the Knicks’ other summertime concerns being the reason for the delay).

Over his four seasons in charge, former NBA Coach of the Year Thibodeau has guided the Knicks to a 175-143 (.550) record, three playoffs appearances, and two championship series wins. Though it has been more than two months since we learned that the Knicks were working on an extension, Thibodeau is about to reach the final year of his contract with the organization and has not yet secured one.

Nevertheless, the Knicks have had a very active summer, adding Mikal Bridges to their roster, re-signing OG Anunoby in free agency, and working out a highly advantageous agreement with top player Jalen Brunson. Now that all of those agenda items have been addressed, it is likely that a long-term extension for Thibodeau, 66, will be discussed next.
