Memphis News: Just Now The Memphis Grizzlies Have Added Four New Players To Their Roster.

The Grizzlies administration declared that guard Yuki Kawamura, forward Maozinha Pereira, forward/center Armando Bacot, and guard Miye Oni will join the team.

Tennessee’s Memphis The guard Yuki Kawamura, the guard Miye Oni, the forward Maozinha Pereira, and the forward/center Armando Bacot are the four new players that the Memphis Grizzlies unveiled on Friday.

As is team policy, the terms of the deals were not made public.

 

Bacot (6-11, 240), a North Carolina native, joins the Grizzlies after going unselected in the 2024 NBA Draft. In 28.2 minutes, he averaged 13.9 points, 10.1 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.3 blocks in 169 games, of which 168 were starts.

 

In terms of games played, total rebounds, and double-doubles, Bacot led the Tarheel team all-time. He was also chosen for four All-ACC teams.

 

Kawamura (5-8, 159) comes to the Bluff City Bears from the Japanese B. League, where he was a member of the Yokohama B-Corsairs for the previous five seasons and was awarded the 2022–23 Most Valuable Player title. In the NBA Draft in 2023, he was not chosen.

 

Kawamura averaged 20.9 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 8.0 assists in 30.6 minutes while starting all 56 games for Yokohama in the previous campaign. In addition, he played for Japan in the 2023 FIBA World Cup and the 2024 Olympics in Paris.

 

In the 2019 NBA Draft, Oni (6-5, 206) was selected with the 58th overall pick. Over his three seasons with the Utah Jazz, he averaged 1.8 points and 1.4 rebounds in 8.4 minutes played. He also played for the Osceola Magic and Salt Lake City Stars of the NBA G League.

 

At Yale, Oni won the Ivy League Player of the Year award for 2018–19. She also competed for Nigeria in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Last season, Pereira (6-8, 177) played seven games as a rookie for the Grizzlies on consecutive 10-day contracts. In 17.4 minutes, he averaged 6.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 51.4 percent from the floor.

Pereira also spent a portion of three seasons as a player in the Brazilian NBB and with the Mexico City Capitanes of the NBA G League. He most recently competed for Brazil at the Olympics in Paris in 2024.
