Highly ranked safety Jireh Edwards has officially announced his five scheduled visits for the summer, but a few prominent programs are surprisingly absent from his list.

For months, Edwards has been trending toward staying close to home and committing to the Maryland Terrapins. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM) currently gives Maryland the highest probability of landing the talented defensive back. His strong connection to the Terps is not surprising, as his high school in Upper Marlboro is just 20 miles from the University of Maryland’s College Park campus.

By scheduling these official visits, Edwards is taking a closer look at his top options before making a final decision. However, the absence of certain major programs on his itinerary raises speculation about where he truly stands in his recruiting process.

With his impressive skill set and ability to make plays in the secondary, Edwards has drawn interest from numerous schools across the country. His visits this summer will likely play a crucial role in shaping his final choice. Maryland remains a strong contender, but competition from other programs still leaves room for uncertainty in his recruitment.

As the summer progresses, all eyes will be on Edwards to see if he ultimately decides to stay close to home or take his talents elsewhere.
